I have extensive experience working with adults and teens. Some of my areas of specialization include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity issues, and life transitions.

As someone who has worked in creative/artistic endeavors, I also have firsthand experience addressing the specific challenges of creative people, including writer’s block and financial struggles.

I also specialize in working with couples and have helped many couples (and polyamorous relationships) navigate difficult challenges with communication, intimacy, and processing affairs.

After completing my Master’s Degree in History at the University of Washington, Seattle, I earned a Master of Social Work at New York University. For my postgrad training, I earned a certificate in the Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center’s One-Year Program in Relational Studies.

Teaching helps keep me in touch with new clinical research and modalities. I train and teach clinicians who are new to the field. I supervise individual therapists, and facilitate weekly learning groups for master’s candidates, postgrads, as well as fully licensed clinicians. I also offer an ongoing series of lectures geared towards getting clinicians started with working as a couples therapist.

Recently, I contributed a chapter about the benefits of clinical supervision in the textbook From Grad School to Private Practice (and Everything in Between): A Roadmap for Mental Health Clinicians (edited by Liat Shklarski, PhD, LCSW and Maria Laguna, LCSW).
